Daily Bread: Weekly Prayer Guide — Week of New Beginnings

As you step into the week of July 26 through August 1, may this prayer guide help you release what has passed and open your heart to the new thing God is doing. New beginnings are not about erasing your story. They are about letting God write the next chapter with you, in you, and through you.

Sunday, July 26
Scripture: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Prayer: Lord, thank You that in You I am not defined by my past. Help me release what has passed away and receive the new creation You have made me to be. Give me eyes to see myself the way You see me today. Amen.

Monday, July 27
Scripture: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" — Isaiah 43:18-19
Prayer: Father, forgive me for the ways I've stayed anchored to what You've already released me from. Open my eyes to the new thing You are doing in my life right now. Give me the courage to walk toward it instead of looking back. Amen.

Tuesday, July 28
Scripture: "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." — Lamentations 3:22-23
Prayer: Lord, thank You that Your mercy does not run out and Your faithfulness does not depend on mine. Meet me fresh this morning. Wherever I fell short yesterday, remind me that today is a clean page in Your hands. Amen.

Wednesday, July 29
Scripture: "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." — Philippians 3:13-14
Prayer: Father, teach me to press forward instead of replaying what's behind me. Where I've held on to guilt, shame, or regret, help me lay it down. Fix my eyes on the calling You have for me ahead. Amen.

Thursday, July 30
Scripture: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." — Ezekiel 36:26
Prayer: Lord, soften what has grown hard in me through pain and disappointment. I invite You to do the deep work only You can do. Give me a heart that trusts again, hopes again, and loves again. Amen.

Friday, July 31
Scripture: "He said, 'I am making everything new!' Then he said, 'Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'" — Revelation 21:5
Prayer: Father, I hold on to Your promise that You are making all things new, not just someday, but starting now. Renew my mind, my hope, and my expectation for what You are building in this season. Amen.

Saturday, August 1
Scripture: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." — Joshua 1:9
Prayer: Lord, as I step into this new season, silence the fear that tells me to stay small or stay safe. Remind me that courage is not the absence of fear but trust in Your presence. Go with me into all You have new for me. Amen.
