Today marks the launch of Divorce Was Not the End, our 5-week live masterclass for women healing from the trauma of a broken marriage and stepping into everything God has for them next. If you have been waiting for the right moment to begin your healing, this is it. This week's Daily Bread and teaching are dedicated to you.
Daily Bread: A Week of Healing
Sunday, August 9
Scripture: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." — Psalm 147:3
Prayer: Lord, I bring You the broken places divorce has left in me. Thank You that You do not just acknowledge my pain; You bind it up. Begin Your healing work in me today. Amen.
Monday, August 10
Scripture: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Prayer: Father, thank You that my story did not end with my divorce. Today, as I step into this season of healing, remind me that I am not defined by what was lost, but by who You are making me. Amen.
Tuesday, August 11
Scripture: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
Prayer: Lord, meet me in the places I have not let anyone see. Thank You for being close to me even now. Save what feels crushed in me and restore it in Your time. Amen.
Wednesday, August 12
Scripture: "He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake." — Psalm 23:3
Prayer: Father, restore what this season has taken from my soul. Lead me forward, not back into old wounds, but into the path You have already prepared for me. Amen.
Thursday, August 13
Scripture: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you." — Ezekiel 36:26
Prayer: Lord, soften what has grown hard in me through this loss. Give me a heart that can trust, hope, and love again in Your timing. Amen.
Friday, August 14
Scripture: "To grant to those who mourn in Zion... a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning." — Isaiah 61:3
Prayer: Father, I release the ashes of this season into Your hands. Thank You for the beauty You promise in exchange. Let joy return to me in ways I cannot yet imagine. Amen.
Saturday, August 15
Scripture: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11
Prayer: Lord, thank You that this ending is not the final word over my life. Thank You for a future I cannot yet see, and for hope that is already mine in You. Amen.
This Week's Teaching: Divorce Was Not the End
For many women, divorce feels like a period placed at the end of a sentence that was never supposed to stop there. It can feel like loss, failure, and the closing of a door you never wanted shut. But Scripture tells a different story about endings: they are very often the place where God begins His most significant work.
Divorce is not a disqualification from God's plan for your life. It is not evidence that you are unworthy of love, unworthy of purpose, or unworthy of a future marked by joy. It is a season, painful as it may be, that God can and will use if you let Him.
Healing After Divorce Is Not Instant, But It Is Available
There is no shortcut through grief, and anyone who tells you there is one is not being honest with you. But healing is available, starting today, the moment you choose to stop carrying this alone. Psalm 147:3 tells us God "heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." That healing is not passive. It is an active, ongoing work of restoration that begins the moment you open the wound to Him instead of hiding it.
You Are Not the Sum of What Ended
One of the deepest lies divorce can plant is the belief that your identity is now defined by what was lost. But 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us, "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." Your marriage ending does not end your story. It does not end your worth, your calling, or your capacity to love and be loved again.
